The secrets to boosting your GPA and getting good grades in college (4.0 GPA)

Succeeding in College With No Experience

ARTICLE SUMMARY

While this is a website about studying and how to get good grades, I wanted to write this article about succeeding in college with no experience because the topic is so important and it is indirectly related to getting good grades. This article goes into a discussion about choosing an area of study and achieving a good balance between school and your extra curricular life.

Ask anybody who is no longer in college and has moved on into the ‘real world’ and you’ll get a consensus: the four years that are spent in college are a magical time.

Yes, being in the ‘real world,’ having resources and an exciting career are all liberating and wonderful but most will agree, it is those innocent, care-free days of college that are most remembered and thought of as a period in one’s life that will always be cherished.

Indeed, your four years in college can be wonderful… However, the reverse can easily be true as well.

For a great many students, these years can become pure drudgery. Unfortunately, many students end up in a rut-like pattern (instead of the care-free idealistic scenario painted above), which renders their experience completely un-enjoyable. These students experience a college lifestyle that involves:

  • late nights cramming
  • endlessly trying to keep up
  • a less than desirable social life
  • lack of balance, etc.

Hardly the college dream that most students envision prior to arriving on campus for the first time. Even worse, in exchange for all the drudgery, they give up any chance for a worthwhile social life and any extracurricular activities outside of their academics.

College life doesn’t have to be this way.

What the struggling students don’t realize is that doing well in college is far easier than they think.

Now, you may be a freshman in college who is just starting out. If that is the case, you are fresh and ready to go. Heed this advice and walk forward bravely! If you are already knee-deep into your college academic career, fear not. There is still hope for you yet. Apply the principles laid for you in this article (whichever apply) and you, too, will notice a difference.

Fair enough?
